2018 Summer Internships

We are so excited to introduce our incredibly bright and talented interns we have the pleasure of working with this summer!

Baldeep Kaur-Mann is a rising senior at the College of William & Mary where she studies Psychology and Gender/Sexuality Studies. Having been involved with the Executive Committee of the Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies’ Program, Baldeep joined the LGBT Bar to continue to pursue means to promote equality concerning all aspects of life. This summer, she will be working on different blogs for the LGBT Bar, such as the Membership Spotlight and Success Story, among other tasks. She is excited to aid in advocacy work with the Bar along with exploring different museums and exhibits in DC.  She hopes that her time here will help prepare her for the inner workings of the legal profession, which she wishes to pursue in the future. She can be reached at baldeep@lgbtbar.org.

Julia Draper is a senior at the College of William and Mary, where she studies American Studies and Religious Studies. In the past, Julia has worked with advocates promoting a variety of social justice causes in her home state of New Jersey. This summer she is excited to move to Washington DC to continue to learn about political advocacy in our nation’s capital. As an intern with the LGBT Bar, she is hoping to gain a better insight into federal policy advocacy and the legal profession, as she considers attending law school after graduation. In her free time, Julia enjoys travelling, scoping out new music for her college radio show, and sampling unusual ice cream flavors. She is looking forward to working with the LGBT Bar as an opportunity for impactful work and an exciting summer experience. She can be reached at juliadraper@lgbtbar.org
