Fred Sultan serves as Counsel to the Lower Colorado River Authority, an organization which enhances the lives of Texans through water stewardship, energy, and community service. Fred’s practice focuses on litigation and appeals in a wide range of cases. Prior to joining LCRA, Fred practiced commercial litigation at Foley & Lardner LLP, Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, and Clark Thomas & Winters PC.
Fred is passionate about his community and serves organizations on the local, state, and national levels, including as a Director of AIDS Services of Austin and a co-founder of the Austin Bar Association’s LGBT Law Section. He is the recipient of the State Bar of Texas LGBT Law Section’s 2019 Judge Norman W. Black Award—that section’s highest honor. He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, with honors, and was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court in 2008.
