The National LGBT Bar Association has launched a Safe Space pilot program geared towards law firms and corporations. The program will encourage organizations to designate an area of their company as a Safe Space for LGBT employees. Lawyers who identify as LGBT need safe spaces just as much as students and LGBT youth.

What is a Safe Space?
An environment in which everyone is respected, valued and safe without regard to sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
A Safe Space can be an entire workplace or just a specific office or lounge within the organization.
Why is Safe Space training important?
Safe Space training supports and encourages LGBT colleagues. It can improve morale, work product and job satisfaction and often leads to higher rates of voluntary LGBT data reporting. Training helps organizations understand issues facing LGBT colleagues and develop tools for identifying and addressing impediments to full inclusion.
