Sam Gunning is currently a 2L at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. He graduated from Cambridge University in 2007 with a Bachelors degree in Social and Political Sciences. Originally from England, he is now living the American Dream! Prior to law school, Sam worked for a number of non-profits, took part in a number of volunteer projects, worked on cruise ships for 2 years and watched every episode of Family Guy. He was Secretary of the Cambridge LGBTQ student group; in law school he served as the 1L representative for OUTLaw, Cardozo’s LGBTQ student organization, and is currently political chair of the group. He is passionate about community service and has taken part in many volunteer projects all over the world, such as collecting and relocating turtle eggs from the beaches in Costa Rica and taking people with developmental disabilities on vacations in Australia. At Cardozo Law School, he is a staff editor of the Cardozo Journal of Law and Gender and is active in a number of student groups and public interest programs. He likes photography, politics, editing Wikipedia and the feeling after a long flight when someone picks you up at the airport. He dislikes pigeons and goodbyes.
