Brian Cox

Brian Cox is a student in Northwestern Law’s class of 2016. He has lived in three countries (Canada, Barbados and the U.S.) and is now proud to call Chicago home. After several years of working in the insurance and health care industries and volunteering for AIDS service organizations in Toronto, Brian came to law school for a fresh start and to make a bigger difference in the communities he cares about. Brian will be pursuing a public interest career, and is especially interested in justice for people living with HIV and other issues at the intersections of race, class and sexuality. His article Turning the Tide: The Future of HIV Criminalization after Rhoades v. State and Legislative Reform in Iowa will be published in the Northwestern Journal of Law and Social Policy in the fall of 2015. In the summer of 2014, Brian was an intern at Lambda Legal’s Chicago office, and in the summer of 2015 he will be an intern at the Office of the State Appellate Defender in Chicago.  Contact the Midwest Region II Chair
