2017 1L Summer Legal Intern Program
The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. & Blank Rome LLP
 
The National LGBT Bar Association (LGBT Bar) is pleased to partner with The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (PNC) and Blank Rome LLP to provide a meaningful summer internship opportunity to a highly-motivated first-year law student. Through this partnership, the LGBT Bar will select one intern that will be employed by Blank Rome as a summer associate, but will split the summer between Blank Rome and PNC’s legal department. This internship will be based in the PNC and Blank Rome Philadelphia offices and will be a paid position.
 
Internship Responsibilities:

During the initial six weeks of the internship program, you will be at Blank Rome and will be part of the Blank Rome summer associate program. Blank Rome is exceptionally proud of its top-notch summer program. Its success is a reflection of the commitment of senior leadership to continue the pipeline of exceptional talent, the dedication of its recruiting committees, and the commitment of all Blank Rome attorneys who provide Summer Associates with meaningful work opportunities, including attending client meetings and closings, along with significant professional and social interaction. The program provides a rewarding and realistic introduction into the practice of law at Blank Rome and a culture of learning.

For the final four weeks of the internship, you will work in-house with PNC’s legal department and rotate through several different areas, including litigation, regulatory, and corporate. You will receive a variety of assignments from senior lawyers that will provide you with the skills needed to build your legal resume as you step forward along your career path. The internship with PNC will introduce you to PNC’s legal culture and environment and increase your aptitude in handing complex tasks/projects. You will gain exposure to a variety of legal matters and attain a well-rounded understanding of PNC’s infrastructure, while contributing your research, writing, and analytical skills in support of PNC legal.
 
Qualifications:

  • Current 1L law student in good standing at an ABA accredited law school
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Sharp intellect
  • Community involvement
  • Work experience
  • Current Member of the National LGBT Bar Association

Interviews will be conducted the between March 8, 2016 and March 14, 2016. Finalist shall be selected and notified on or before March 17, 2016.
